We built Dispute Buddy so you don't experience what I did - scrolling through hundreds of messages that were upsetting to re-read, screenshotting them one-by-one, wondering which messages my lawyer would want to see.
I emailed all these screenshots to my lawyer, worrying that I'd missed the important ones and that I'd lose.We hadn't even got to court yet and I was already stressed about whether I'd given the lawyer the right info and how big the legal bill would be.
So I built the EXACT thing I needed when I was where you are right now.If I'd had Dispute Buddy when I had to gather evidence, I'd have felt SO much more in control and confident. And my legal bill would have been way less.

Here’s how it works:
1. Buy the app
2. Download to computer
3. Install and launch the app
4. Connect iPhone to computer
5. Enter contacts and date range
6. Wait for 30-120 mins while we search for and analyse the messages you’ve selected
7. Select whether to export ‘texts only’ or ‘texts and analysis of texts’.
8. Save the exported PDF
9. Keep app open to export as many PDFs as you like with different contacts and date ranges
10. Close the app. This removes all the temporary files the app saved on your computer
11. You can reopen the app at any time. Just start from step 4.
We are only compatible with iPhone. Android is coming soon!
Yes. You can download Dispute Buddy’s app onto any computer. Remember it only works for iPhones at the moment.
The Dispute Buddy app must be downloaded onto your computer (laptop or desktop).
The app exports messages FROM your iPhone or iPad TO your computer.
No. No one will know. You’ll export a PDF of your texts and save it on your computer. You can email it to whoever you like, or you can just keep it for yourself as a record of conversations.

Being simple + clear means we only do what we say we’re doing - exporting your texts analysing them, and exporting that report to a PDF.
We don’t sell data.
We run a backup of your iPhone to a temporary folder on your desktop, then export messages from your selected contacts to a PDF.
The messages from your selected contacts are then sent to our secure cloud to organise them into relevant messages, for your PDF export. When you close the app, the system deletes the temporary backup on your computer.
Absolutely. The app is designed to guide you step-by-step. And if you need help, jump on our LiveChat link in the app.
Yes. You’ll see group chats in the list of your contacts. Just select the ones you want to export.
It will export your messages in whatever language you send them in. If you have problems, get in touch. We can help!
It will only export exactly what you can see on your device at the time of running the app. We can’t recover deleted messages.
But if your phone says ‘this message has been deleted’ in the thread, our export will show that.
At the moment, Dispute Buddy can only export texts and WhatsApps. In the future, you’ll be able to export Messenger, emails, and other platforms.

We’ve designed the app to use in the early stages of evidence gathering. That’s why we describe the PDF export as lawyer-friendly. Some of our customers have told us they’ve used Dispute Buddy in court, but that’s anecdotal, not ‘court-certified’.
Most of our users fall between 20 mins and 2 hours. It depends on factors likeHow much storage you have on your phoneThe age of your iPhone and computerWhether you need to use an external hard drive to run the search.
For example, if you have around 100GB of data on your phone, 500GB of space on a computer you bought in 2022, it’ll probably take around 20 mins.If you have 250GB of data on your phone, need to connect a hard drive to your 2018 computer, may take around 3 hours.
We are currently working on reducing the time it takes to run the search, and the amount of storage you need to be available.
As many as you like. It’s a one-off payment then the app is yours for life.
Yes. You will need:
A) An Apple cable (cheap ones won’t work) to connect phone to the computer
B) At least 100GB spare on your laptop, or an external hard drive
c) Up to 2 hours, to leave the phone plugged into the computer
D) Make sure your computer’s plugged into the power
